WEDNESDAY NOON WORSHIP & LUNCH, MARCH 12, 19, 26, APRIL 2, 9:
The Christian Churches of Monroeville Ministerium will hold Lenten worship/lunch at MUM. Each service is provided by a different church from the community. The half-hour services are followed at 12:30 by a light lunch, designed so that community members may take a break during their day for spiritual renewal.
THURSDAYS, MARCH 20 - APRIL 10; 7:30-9 p.m.:
Are You Looking for God? Does this seem like an odd question to ask “church folk?” After all, don’t those who attend church have it all together spiritually and walk with God on a daily basis? No, not always. Sometimes we wonder about God, and why God seems so distant, remote and unreachable. Sometimes we wonder about the existence of God all together! Sometimes we ask ourselves, “Is it true or merely a fable?” Why do some people seem to know God intimately and others want to, but can’t make the connection? If you’re a skeptic, questioner, or doubter you are in very good company at MUM! Join us for a 4-week journey in search of God beginning Thursday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. Skillfully guided by Lois Lang and Tom Barnicott, we will creatively ponder our unique situations and where God might be found in the midst of them. No pat answers or simple assurances, rather, we will open our hearts to the possibility that God is near and longing to touch your life with love.
SUNDAYS DURING LENT: The Christian Living Adult Class will feature a special Lenten Study, The Easter Experience by City on a Hill Productions.
The Easter Experience asks, “What if what happened then changes everything now?” And “Once you experience the story of Easter, absolutely everything in your life changes.” Are you up for the challenge? Beth and Ivan Stiffler will be the teachers. We are hoping to fill ALL the seats in the Parlor and we can add more if needed! If you have considered attending one of the adult Sunday morning classes and have not done it - give this seasonal study a try !Plan to join the class as we prepare for a glorious Easter!
Lenten devotionals are available in the Information Rack beside the MUM Parlor.
