Summer Worship

Summer Worship (June - Sunday before Labor Day)

9:15 a.m. Summer Worship Service at Monroeville Community Park East (off Tilbrook Road). Bring a blanket or lawn  chair, dress casually and worship in God’s outdoor sanctuary. Our outdoor service is family-friendly with an informal atmosphere, upbeat music, and a playground nearby. The site has plenty of parking and is easily accessable..In really inclement weather, we meet at the church (check the website calendar and facebook to see if the service is indoors.)

Directions to Monroeville Park East from the church:

On Center Road head towards rte. 22 then go straight onto Stroschein Rd. Turn left onto Monroeville Blvd. (at Eat ‘n Park). Go 0.7 miles, then turn right onto Pitcairn Road (three-way stop sign). At the first stop sign stay left onto Tilbrook Road.  Go about 1 mile to the old park entrance on the LEFT by the basketball courts. There is a large parking lot and we will be either on the hill or under the nearby pavilion depending on weather conditions.

11:00 a.m.  Worship Service at the church

There is no Sunday school during the summer. Families are encouraged to attend the 9:15 park service which has a casual setting, a playground nearby and rhythmn instruments for the kids at music time.

There is no nusery care available at either service during the summer. The nursery will be open for you to change diapers and take care of your baby, if needed, during the 11 am service.

Checking out Our faith Community? Welcome

You may be just surfing the net checking out different churches or seriously searching for a new church home. Either way, we are glad that you have decided to stop by and check us out.

I myself walked through the door a little more than a year ago to serve at Monroeville United Methodist Church, (or MUM) as Pastor. I’ve been here before…   I joined this faith community 30 years ago when I was a salesman and had been transferred to the Monroeville area. This community of faith welcomed me into the family and supported me through some very challenging times of illness in my family. Their love and encouragement helped me to hear the heartbeat of God’s love when I needed it most.  Later, when I felt a call to the ordained ministry, they supported me and guided me to a wonderful new life! I’ve been serving as a Pastor in Western PA for over 25 years; in McKeesport, Slippery Rock, Beaver Falls, and Johnstown.  Now God, through our Bishop, has sent me back where my journey began; called to serve the very same community that God used to transform my life!  I know what God can do through these people and what a blessing they are! I look forward to serving with them!

So welcome! We invite you to take some time to check us out.  We hope you will join us so we can welcome you in person! If I can be of any assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to let me know. See you in church or in the neighborhood!

God’s blessings,

Pastor Ed Schoeneck
