UMW Notes

United Methodist Women Sunday on May 19

The guest speaker will be Diana Miller, president of the Ruth M. Smith Board. Members of the U.M.W. will conduct both services. There will be a love offering taken at each service for the Ruth M. Smith Center, to help as they minister to the social, educational, emotional, spiritual and physical needs of dependent children, youth, adults and families.



United Methodist Women District meeting

 The Spring Meeting of the Greensburg District United Methodist Women will be Saturday, May 18, 2019, here at MUM. All women of the church are invited. Coffee and breakfast rolls will be served at 9 a.m., and at 9:45 we will gather in the sanctuary for hymn singing. The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. A memorial Service will be conducted during the meeting. Also ,the awards will be given out.

The guest speakers will be Mrs. Edwin Parker and Mrs. William Butler. They will be speaking to us regarding the heritage/history of the U.M.W.  

We ask for 1 salad for every 3 persons attending.

If you need child care, that will be provided, Please bring a bag lunch for your child.



6th Annual UMW Indoor Flea Market, Lunch & Bake Sale!


Saturday, June 15, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.


RESERVE YOUR TABLES! Reserve a table for $20 to sell your no-longer-needed items - they may be someone else’s treasure! Invite your friends to rent a table, too! This is a great opportunity to be part of a fundraiser that will benefit women, youth and children, locally and around the world.


 BRING YOUR “FLEAS” TO DONATE TO THE UMW TABLES! All profits will go to UMW missions. Items may be placed in Room 7 beginning on June 9. (No clothes, please.)


 DONATE TO THE BAKE SALE! Women, men, youth and kids - all can contribute their special homemade goodies, i.e., cookies, fudge, brownies, etc. We especially need more cupcakes, cakes, loaf cakes, and pies this year! Goodies are to be dropped off in the kitchen anytime on Thursday, June 13 until 6 p.m. or on Friday until 8 p.m.


 HELP WITH SET-UP! Set-up will be on Thursday, June 13 from 2:30 - 6 p.m. and on Friday, June 14 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. or until finished (should be earlier).


 HELP US TO ADVERTISE! Post a photo of one of the flyers on your social media account. Large flyers for posting and mini-flyers for handing out to people are available on the table inside the parking lot entrance to the church.

   Tree of Life

 Medallions may be purchased in honor, memory or celebration of someone or a special event.  They are displayed on the Trees of Life in the narthex and when removed from the tree, will be given to you. Proceeds from the tree of Life project will go towards United Methodist Women's missions.  Medallions will be on sale in the narthex every 3rd Sunday of the month or can be purchased at the Tree of Life box in the rear of the sanctuary. United Methodist Women Reading Progam

The U.M.W. is participating the District reading program to help us to receive the diamond award from the district. In order to achieve this we need 5 people to read 5 different books from different categories. The books are easy to read and they are interesting. You can find them in the library on the U.M.W. shelf, just sign your name in the red folder and enjoy the reading.  






Handicap AccessibleWe  welcome persons with disabilities. Our parking lot has several reserved spaces  and the building is universally accessible through automated doors. Our  sanctuary and most other rooms are wheelchair accessible; we have available,  upon request, amplified hearing devices as well as large print Bibles and  Hymnals.
